Revoking

Revoking access to shared data depends on the type of access granted and the time expired in between.

Operator or installation manager access

If you opted for the operator or installation manager access types, you can only revoke the access within 72 hours after the other party has processed the data. Any access they granted to other parties will be revoked as well.

Subcontractor or “On loan” access

If you opted for the subcontractor or “On loan” access types, you can revoke their access at any point in time. In case the subcontractor shared data with other parties that access will be revoked as well.

In practice

Required: role Administrator

Follow these steps to revoke the access to a single installation:

  • Look up the installation
  • At the bottom of the installation details you’ll see what other accounts have access to the installation.
  • Press the relevant item and press the Revoke access button.

When you want to revoke access to all data within a share, you need to navigate to the module Sharing installations within the Settings screen and look up the share. Press the Revoke… button to start the revocation process.

You can revoke access to a share even after 72 hours has passed, but this:

  • Only prevents the other party from processing items they haven’t copied or linked yet
  • Only revokes access to the installations that have been added to their account within the 72 hour timeframe. Other installations from that share will still be available to the other party.

What happens when your access is revoked?

You will no longer be able to process data shared with your account that hadn’t already been processed. Any customer, location or building data you did process will remain available, but your access to the related installations will be revoked, taking into account the 72 hour timeframe for operator and installation manager access.

What does this mean?

  • The installation will be archived and can only be unarchived by being granted access.
  • You cannot add or change the installation or any related assignments, activities or measurements.
  • You will be able to consult the installation properties and logs as they were recorded at the time your access was revoked. Changes made on a later point in time will not be visible to you.
