Sharing installations provides a secure and trustworthy option of cooperaton with other organizations. But what data will you be sharing? What do those other accounts get to see and what can they do with it?

In this scenario we’re assuming you shared an installation with another Climapulse Service account called “Acme”.

Acme can:

  • Modify installation properties, like brand, model, serial number, capacity and notes.
  • View all measurements, completed operations and actions.
  • Add their own activities, like operations, actions and measurements.
  • Manage installations components
  • View and download shared attachments
  • Add their own attachments, whether they’re shared with the end customer or not.
  • Remove the installation from their account, without impacting the installation in your account.
  • Archive the installation in their account, without impacting the installation in your account.
  • Using access type “Installation manager”: share the data with any other account
  • Using access type “Subcontractor: share the data with any other subcontractor account

Acme cannot:

  • Modify the building, location or customer of an installation. This information is not shared between accounts; Acme will have their own version of these items. This holds true even if you decided to share a full customer record with Acme. Only the corresponding installations are actually shared.
  • Modify the maintenance plan. This information is not shared between accounts; Acme will have their own version.
  • Modify or remove activities performed by other accounts.
  • Remove attachments added by other accounts.
  • Revoke your access.
  • View your events or feedback. Module Planningstool

As soon as access is revoked, Acme will no longer be able to perform any changes. Acme will still have access to the information that was available at the time the access was revoked. Have a look at Revoking access for more.

“Your” properties

In the scenario above, Acme is able to add and alter plenty of data. It makes sense: if Acme is there to convert the installation you also need to know how it all fits together afterwards.

But the next few properties can only be changed by you:

  • Reference: after all it’s your name for the installation
The customer’s reference however can be altered.
  • Customer, location and building: Acme needs to provide and use their own version of this data.
  • Priority

You can always consult the History tab of an installation to see the changes that were made.
